“In the Hearts of Africa,” a film by Academy Award nominee, Edward Lachman, is a sequel to the award winning documentary, Life for a Child.

Wayne Lachman Productions, Double Wide Media and Ed Lachman teamed up with Eli Lilly and Company to produce this heart-rending film about children with diabetes in the Congo,

The film follows Sister Marguerite De Clerk, a Belgian nun and doctor who specializes in Type 1 Diabetes in the Congo, as she treats children with diabetes and their families as they struggle with this chronic disease.

In the Hearts of Africa won the Houston International Film Festival in 2011 and was an official selection for the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival and the Hawaiian International Film Festival.
